In 2000, LLOYD opened the "shoe factory of the future" in Sulingen, the company's home base. This advanced concept is based on the key factors of teamwork, qualifications and granting the staff a high degree of autonomy. Flexible working hours, equal pay, responsibility and self-realization are key pillars in LLOYD's forward-looking strategy, allowing the company to outperform in an increasingly competitive marketplace.

The new factory can push productivity up by 25 % and harness its outstanding flexibility to react rapidly to short-notice customer orders. The LLOYD approach is currently being run as a pilot project; it was developed and implemented by the company's board of management together with the work's council, public authorities and several institutions.
